Bangladesh have handed a recall to Shafiul Islam after naming the seamer in their 15-man squad for the forthcoming Champions Trophy.

The 27-year-old was last in international action last October against England but a hamstring injury sidelined him for the tours in New Zealand and Sri Lanka, where the Tigers emerged with creditable 1-1 draws across all three formats.

Shafiul joins a fast bowling attack comprising of skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, highly-rated pair Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed and Rubel Hossain for Bangladesh, who play hosts England in the tournament opener at the Oval on June 1.

Bangladesh also take on Australia at the same venue on June 5 before travelling to Cardiff to close their Group A campaign against New Zealand four days later.

Another paceman in Subashis Roy plus wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan and all-rounder Nasir Hossain are on standby and have been named as part of an 18-man group for the preceding tri-series in Ireland, which also including New Zealand.
