Pakistan continued their dominance in the second Test against West Indies as they look to build a substantial lead in Abu Dhabi.
After the tourists were dismissed for 224, opener Azhar Ali struck an unbeaten 52 to leave his side 342 runs ahead with nine second-innings wickets in hand.
West Indies started day three on 106 for four with nightwatchman Devendra Bishoo and Jermaine Blackwood at the crease and trailing by 346 runs.
But Blackwood lasted only six overs when he feathered a full Rohat Ali delivery to wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed to leave his side on 121 for five.
It was not long before Sohail Khan joined in the action when he clean-bowled Bishoo's off-stump out of the ground before Asad Shafiq took a sharp catch at second slip from Yasir Shah's first delivery with the new ball to dislodge Roston Chase.
Leg spinner Yasir (four for 86) soon got his second wicket of the day when he bowled Shai Hope with a straight ball which sneaked under his bat with West Indies reeling on 178 for eight.
Miguel Cummins fell for three when he was removed by another swinging Khan delivery before Shannon Gabriel was caught off the bowling of Yasir with Jason Holder left stranded on 31.
It got more difficult for the Windies as Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali put on a formidable opening partnership of 93 before the former brushed a Gabriel delivery behind to wicketkeeper Hope for 50.
Umpire Richard Illingworth did not initially give the decision but Holder called for a review and after much scrutiny, TV umpire Paul Reiffel overturned the decision as the tourists finally found the breakthrough.
That was all they could conjure up though, as Pakistan continued in positive fashion and Azhar reached his half-century.
He will return on Monday alongside Shafiq (five not out) with Pakistan 114 for one.
