No timescale set on Sarah Taylor return as she is omitted from training squad

England women's coach Mark Robinson insists that Sarah Taylor remains in the reckoning for this summer's World Cup despite being omitted from a 24-strong training camp squad.

Taylor won the last of her 190 England caps in the ICC World Twenty20 semi-final defeat to Australia in Delhi almost a year ago.

The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman subsequently announced she was taking an indefinite break from cricket because of stress-related issues and she has not been included in the group which will play three matches against Ireland at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Stadium late next month.

Robinson gave a positive update on Taylor but warned there are "no timescales" yet in place for her return.

He said: "The trip will give us the opportunity to play some internal games to get us back playing competitive cricket. With places up for grabs, the players will start the process of building a case for selection this summer.

"Sarah Taylor is going really well at the moment and is back in training. Her return is a graduated one which is regularly reviewed as she works herself back to hopefully full fitness.

"There are no timescales in place for her, but her goal is still to give herself the best chance of being able to play in the World Cup."
