Head coach Darren Lehmann to link-up with Australia in New Zealand

Head coach Darren Lehmann will join up with Australia's tour of New Zealand after recovering from deep vein thrombosis.

The 45-year-old was struck down with the condition 10 days ago and spent a night in a Sydney hospital after feeling pain in his left calf.

However, he has been given the all-clear to fly to New Zealand where the Baggy Greens have already started the one-day international leg of their tour.

Lehmann will travel to Wellington on Saturday and remain there until the first Test on February 12.

Michael Di Venuto has been at the helm in Lehmann's absence and will continue to take the reins for the remaining two ODIs, with Australia 1-0 down in the three-match series.

Australia's chief medical officer John Orchard said: "Darren has received clearance from specialists in Australia to travel on Saturday and return to work."
