Former England skipper Charlotte Edwards calls time on Kent career

Charlotte Edwards is to leave Kent after 16 seasons with the women's side, the club have announced.

The former England captain won the domestic double with Kent in 2016 to bring her tally of trophies with the county to 10 . She also led Southern Vipers to the inaugural Women's Super League title this summer.

Edwards, predominantly a top-order batter, said: "It's been a really tough decision to leave Kent but ultimately I feel it's the right decision for me and more importantly the current team. Having won the double in 2016 I feel this is a fitting end to my time as a Kent cricketer."

The 36-year-old has recently been playing for South Australia Women and is set to represent Adelaide Strikers in the Women's Big Bash League this month and next.
