England captain Eoin Morgan remains at ease that he has a team of match-winners at his disposal despite their chastening seven-wicket defeat against South Africa at SuperSport Park.
England undertook the short journey back to base in Johannesburg on Tuesday night with plenty to ponder, after Joe Root's one-day international career-best 125 had been superseded by centuries from both South African openers as the hosts successfully chased 318 for eight with almost four overs to spare.
Morgan remains confident in the tourists' resources even though they were unable to separate Quinton de Kock (135) and Hashim Amla (127) until they had piled up 239 together in 36.5 overs.
England, who like South Africa are set to announce their ICC World Twenty20 squad on Wednesday, will be back with a point to prove two days later and a series still to clinch from 2-1 up in the penultimate match at The Wanderers.
Morgan was heartened by England's batting at Centurion but could only reflect on a moderate evening with the ball.
"I think we started poorly," he said.
"If you look back to the last game [in Port Elizabeth], we looked pretty threatening in the first 10 overs, and almost set the tone for the innings.
"Here, it was as simple as we didn't get enough balls in the right areas.
"We missed our lengths more often than not, and let two very experienced batsmen get themselves in, and they took advantage of that."
England were off target with the new ball, and then Morgan could not find anyone to come back and break the opening stand until they had much a huge dent in their run chase.
He is adamant he has plenty of options to do just that - merely that they did not manage it this time.
"I think we have a number of them," he said.
"Today, we didn't hit our straps at all, (but) we've obviously got the two spinners, variation with the two left-armers and (Ben) Stokes and (Chris) Jordan, who have a bit of pace."
Chris Woakes and Test strike bowler Stuart Broad have both yet to be used in the series, but may come into contention on Friday.
"I've considered tweaking it every game," said the captain.
"So we'll consider it again, yes."
As for that World Twenty20 squad, there seem to be few if any surprises in the offing.
Kevin Pietersen will not be making a return from his controversial two-year exile.
But Steven Finn, absent here after injuring his side in England's Test series victory, is expected to be named.
Morgan said: "The reports I'm getting on Steve Finn are that he is recovering really well."
