Leicestershire all-rounder Ben Raine has signed a new contract until the end of the 2019 season.

The 23-year-old has been a central figure for the Foxes this season, claiming 51 first-class wickets at 27.11 as well as adding 452 runs.

He has also been a key part in the NatWest T20 Blast side in what has been a breakthrough season for him.

Raine said: "I'm really enjoying my cricket at Leicestershire County Cricket Club and I'm pleased to commit my future to the club. We are definitely moving in the right direction and have taken big strides forward this season, so there are exciting times ahead.

"I'd also like to thank Clint McKay and Charlie Shreck for all of their support. They have been like older brothers to me this season, guiding and pushing me along, and I couldn't have done it without their help."

Leicestershire cricket chief executive Wasim Khan: "Ben has had a fantastic season for us both with bat and ball. He is a young cricketer who is only getting better and better and is an integral part of our side in all formats, so we are excited to have him here for a further four seasons."
