AB de Villiers is set to make his long-awaited return to international cricket later this month after being named in South Africa's squad for the one-day series against Sri Lanka.

The 32-year-old, who last week made himself unavailable for the Test tour of England later this summer, has not represented his country since last June due to a troublesome elbow injury.

All-rounder Chris Morris also returns to the squad, which will be skippered by De Villiers, but Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel are unavailable due to injury.

Cricket South Africa selection convener Linda Zondi said: "It is wonderful to have AB back available both as player and leader."
