Monty's Manor

Sport.co.uk have teamed up with Yellow Jersey Press to give away FIVE copies on Monty’s Manor, written by BBC golf correspondent Iain Carter.

When Graeme McDowell won the 2010 Ryder Cup for Europe, there was perhaps only one man for whom victory meant more. For the last twenty years Colin Montgomerie has been Europe’s go-to-guy in these epic contests.  He has been the catalyst, the leader, the closer; the man they called on to take down America’s big guns, the man they turned to when a win was desperately needed to steady the nerves.  In 2010, seemingly in the twilight of his career, he had one last role to play: captain of the European side.

Monty’s Manor takes us into Colin Montgomerie’s history with the Ryder Cup, from his nervous debut in 1991 up to, and including, the drama and excitement of this year’s contest at Celtic Manor. Montgomerie has performed in eight Ryder Cups, been on the winning side for five of them and has never, ever been beaten in a singles match.
