Dillian Whyte O2 Arena fight postponed due to foot injury

Dillian Whyte's June 3 fight with Poland's Mariusz Wach has been postponed after the heavyweight suffered a foot injury.

Whyte had been scheduled to top the bill at London's 02 Arena.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is banking on Whyte being ready for action by July when it is still hoped James DeGale will make the latest defence of his IBF super-middleweight title.

"We expect to see him return in July before challenging for the world heavyweight title towards the end of the year," Hearn said.

The 29-year-old Whyte's rival, Dereck Chisora, had been scheduled to fight Robert Helenius on May 27 but that has also been postponed owing to what his promoter Nisse Sauerland described as "a number of contributing factors".

It had been widely hoped the two would meet in a re-match after Whyte's narrow defeat of Chisora in December.
