British boxer Chantelle Cameron's Olympic dream is over after she was eliminated at the Women's World Championships in Kazakhstan.

The 25-year-old Northamptonshire lightweight, who needed a semi-final finish to qualify for Rio later this summer, lost a split decision to Finland's Mira Potkonen in the Astana preliminaries.

Ireland's Katie Taylor, who also needs to reach the last four to secure a spot for Brazil, progressed to the last 16 in the same weight division after a unanimous decision against Sweden's Agnes Alexiusson.

Britain's Nicola Adams, who has already qualified to defend her Olympic crown, began her quest for a first world title with a unanimous decision over Uzbek Dilnozakhon Odiljonova in the flyweight division.
